Comments: Animals were immunized with CH 71 Chinese hamster ovary cells that had been transfected with a plasmid bearing a truncated form of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) cDNA. [53501]

Spleen cells were fused with NS-1 mouse myeloma cells.

The antibody is specific for the human epidermal growth factor receptor and is capable of inhibiting the growth of human tumor cells expressing human epidermal growth factor receptors. [53501]

Propagation: ATCC complete growth medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium, Catalog No. 30-2002. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.

Subculturing: Protocol: Mab 108細(xì)胞Cultures can be maintained by the addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension at 2 to 3 X 10 exp5 viable cells/ml. Maintain cell density between 1 X 10 exp5 and 1 X 10 exp6 viable cells/ml.
